The Goal - April 21

The Goal is not to find anxiety in the future or remorse in the past, but peace in the present.

Drum Expression - May 13

Drumming - and maybe music - generally, is a complete all-encompassing form of expression:

Physically - exertions, precision, stamina

Combining Physical technique with emotional expression

Spiritual Expression - flowing from a meditative space

Certainly there are other artistic forms with the same physically technical combinations with expression - and dance comes to mind - but it is a unique in its improvisational melding with technique and physical discipline.

FutureThink - May 13 (Notes)

We are hardwired to make things more complicated. 

 Complexity is the enemy of achievement.

 ?  Breakdown % of time in meetings/email/unproductive work/productive - other categories?

 Tactical is most nagging and most controllable. 

 No one has created anything surfing the internet. 

 I/ we perpetuate the complexity by doing it.

More Frequent Calm - June 30

As the boys have gotten older and moved off on their own, my obligations in money and time have diminished.   So my time is more my own.   And as I get closer to retirement and my bank accounts relieve some of the deep-seated fears about survival and security -- I find myself finally having (almost) arrived at a place I've dreamed about for decades - where my time is my own and where financial security is no longer a concern.   So I'm increasingly feeling more at peace and relaxed -- not feeling the rush of time or obligations or worry about money.    More to come…….

A project - compare the default - kid - ego, against the more mature - grounded - ego, in a comparison chart. 

Shadows - Nov. 23

My sense of freedom depends on not feeling that I have anybody hovering over my shoulder - that I can go slowly without feeling an urgency of someone pushing me with obligations or expectations.

Transcendence -Dec. 27

In maturity, perspective is a goal or accomplishment that provides an ability to navigate prejudice and conflict…..(to be developed)
